Marketplace alert apps compared

Several tools watch resale marketplaces and tell you when a new listing matches your search. They cover different sites, cost different amounts and suit different buyers. This page sets out what each vendor publishes, with a section on when each one is the better choice. The third-party tools are in alphabetical order, followed by Facebook's built-in alerts. DealHunter is our product, so it is described separately at the end rather than ranked.

Competitor details last checked from each vendor's own website and app store listing. Products change; check the vendor before you buy.

How to choose

  • Which sites do you shop? A tool that does not search a site cannot alert you to it.
  • Where are you? Some tools are US-only; others cover Canada, the UK or Australia.
  • What do you buy? Vehicle dealers, general resellers and casual buyers need different features.
  • How often does it check, and on which plan? Vendors publish this differently, and few publish a delivery guarantee.
  • Phone, computer or both?

DealScout

An iPhone and iPad app that alerts you to new Facebook Marketplace listings matching your search terms.

  • Sites: Facebook Marketplace. Its release notes also mention a Craigslist option.
  • Platforms: iPhone and iPad app.
  • Pricing (vendor-published, checked October 24, 2026): A free plan with one search term checked hourly; paid in-app options add more terms and faster checks.
  • App store rating: 4.4 from 108 ratings (App Store (US)).

DealScout is the better choice when:

  • You only shop Facebook Marketplace and one free search term is enough.

Flipify

A new-listing alert app for resellers that can show an eBay sold-price comparison for some matches.

  • Sites: Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, Kijiji, OfferUp, Vinted, eBay, Mercari, Gumtree. Its App Store listing names fewer sites and says availability varies by region.
  • Platforms: iPhone and iPad app, Android app, Web.
  • Pricing (vendor-published, checked October 24, 2026): Priced per watchlist on its website: $5/month for a watchlist checked every 10 minutes, $10/month for one checked every minute, with a 7-day web trial. In-app prices differ.
  • App store rating: 4.2 from 75 ratings (App Store (US)).

Flipify is the better choice when:

  • You want a low monthly cost for one or two watchlists.
  • You shop in Canada, the UK or Australia (Kijiji, Gumtree).
  • You want an eBay sold-price comparison shown with each match.

Spottable

A Facebook Marketplace alert and listing-analysis tool, with an iPhone app and a Chrome extension that rates individual listings.

  • Sites: Facebook Marketplace.
  • Platforms: iPhone app, Chrome extension.
  • Pricing (vendor-published, checked October 24, 2026): Plans from $4.99/month; the Chrome extension includes a few free listing analyses a day.
  • App store rating: Not listed.

Spottable is the better choice when:

  • You mainly want a second opinion on individual Facebook Marketplace listings (fair price, condition, red flags) while browsing on a computer.
  • You shop Facebook Marketplace in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Ireland.

Swoopa

A subscription alert service for private-party listings, aimed mainly at car dealers and vehicle flippers, with tools for valuing and contacting sellers.

  • Sites: Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, Kijiji, Gumtree, Nextdoor, eBay. Its App Store description lists a different set (Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, Nextdoor, AutoTrader, Cars.com).
  • Platforms: iPhone app, Android app, Web (email alerts).
  • Pricing (vendor-published, checked October 24, 2026): Monthly plans from $47/month, lower with a 6- or 12-month commitment; a 7-day free trial. Its entry plan covers Facebook Marketplace only, and alert speed and the number of marketplaces rise with the plan.
  • App store rating: 4.4 from 552 ratings (App Store (US)).

Swoopa is the better choice when:

  • You buy and sell vehicles and want valuations, VIN and history lookups, seller outreach and a CRM in the same tool.
  • You need Nextdoor, Kijiji, Gumtree, AutoTrader or Cars.com, which DealHunter does not search.
  • You shop outside the US.

Visualping

A general-purpose website change monitor: it watches any page you choose and alerts you when it changes.

  • Sites: Any web page.
  • Platforms: Web, Chrome extension.
  • Pricing (vendor-published, checked October 24, 2026): A free tier of 5 pages and 150 checks a month at most hourly; paid plans add pages and checks as often as every few minutes.
  • App store rating: Not listed.

Visualping is the better choice when:

  • You need to watch pages that are not resale marketplaces: retailer restocks, prices, job or rental listings.
  • You need team features, webhooks, Slack or an API.

Facebook Marketplace's built-in alerts

Search in the Facebook app, tap Notify Me, set a location, radius and optional price, and Facebook notifies you about new matches. Free, Facebook only.

Facebook's own alerts are the better choice when:

  • You only shop Facebook Marketplace and a location, radius and price filter is all you need.
  • You don't want another app or subscription.

DealHunter (our product)

DealHunter runs one saved search across OfferUp, Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark, Craigslist, eBay, Depop, Vinted, and Whatnot, or any subset you choose, and sends a push notification (web, iPhone or Android) or an email when a new listing matches. It is built for general resale buying in the US rather than for one category.

  • Keyword logic: a comma means AND, a pipe means OR, and 16..32 matches a number in a range, so one search can cover misspellings and model variants.
  • Filtering: exclusion keywords, excluded sellers, excluded locations and price limits. Local marketplaces use your ZIP code and a radius.
  • Search assist: describe what you want in plain English and DealHunter drafts the search.
  • Checks: DealHunter rechecks your saved searches automatically. How often, and how many searches you can run, depends on your plan; see pricing.

DealHunter is not the right fit if you need vehicle valuation and dealer tools, sites outside its 9 marketplaces (such as Nextdoor, Kijiji or Gumtree), or monitoring of arbitrary web pages.
